What Is A Mentor?

Everyone who has or who has ever had a mentor tailors the experience to their own style and needs, but there are some common elements. A mentor is:

  • Someone who you trust.
  • Someone you can "talk" openly with.
  • Someone who will be honest with you.
  • Someone to bounce ideas off.
  • Someone to hold you accountable.
  • Someone to support you.
  • Someone to challenge you.
  • And more...

How does eMentoring Work?

eMentoring sessions can occur at any time of the day or evening. For ad hoc questions or issues, brief phone calls or emails work well. For more focused and extended mentoring sessions, then phone calls and email work best. Ad hoc issues are ones, which can be addressed quickly and need not be scheduled. Focused sessions, however, are scheduled mutually to allow for the proper attention and concentration.

Program Level

eMentoring provides support through a coaching relationship to help the business owner achieve their personal and business objectives. This program does not involve any face-to-face time with an advisor for all the work is done over the phone and by email. In eMentoring you will “meet” with your advisor 2 to 4 times a month by phone with interim support via email. These meetings are to review priorities, tactics and challenges that you are facing. The advisor will provide tools, advice and support to enable you to reach your goals. This program is focused on your performance as an individual leader. This program provides limited ad hoc phone support.
