Tom Long to
Lead American Management Association Seminar on Organizational Change
OAK PARK, ILLINOIS – Tom Long has been engaged by the American Management Association (AMA) to lead it May 2007 Seminar: Planning and Managing Organizational Change At its Chicago Education Center.
Because change is inevitable, managing change is critical. But when changes are made, many employees lack the broader knowledge of why new systems and structures are necessary. As a result, frontline managers and human resources professionals must partner together and help organizations in the task of managing change.
This case-study-based seminar will prepare managers responsible for facilitating or managing change initiatives, identifying key business drivers that typically underlie the need for organizational change. You’ll become an expert in managing change, learning how to work with key stakeholders in ways that build support and ensure positive outcomes for your bottom line.
Tom Long is the
President of Solid Oak Consulting, LLC.
He is a seasoned
executive with 30 years of experience in starting, managing and turning around
business groups both domestically and internationally.
He has started
groups at Procter & Gamble, Nastec Corporation, Ernst & Young and R.R.
Donnelley & Sons. And has worked to turnaround groups at Cincom Systems,
Nastec Corporation, Oracle, KPMG, Andersen Consulting and Computer Associates.
His involvement
as an executive in a Venture Capital backed startup, Nastec Corporation, is
where he first had the opportunity to work in a turnaround situation. But since
then, he has consistently sought out opportunities to work in growing
businesses, start-ups and turnarounds.
He holds
certificates in Change Management from ODR and The Australian Graduate School
of Management.
